A review of digital creative duties at American Eagle Outfitters continues despite the exit last week of CMO Kathy Savitt. Savitt had held the post for two years. Client executives are now mulling RFP submissions from about 12 shops, with an eye toward selecting a half-dozen to visit in the next few weeks, said sources.
The Pittsburgh-based client previously used digital shops on a project basis. The review is designed to establish a lead digital shop, though American Eagle will likely still employ multiple shops according to a source. The winning agency will work on corporate image and brand-specific efforts. Beyond the namesake property, the company's brands include Aerie, 77kids and Martin+Osa. Internet spending on the brands was not immediately available from TNS Media Intelligence. Ark Advisors, the New York consultancy that's managing the review, did not return calls.
